Directed by Matthew Brady and co-directed by Raghu Mirmira, Piotr Witkowski, and Brian Layden, the Cell Biology Core is centered at both the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The mission of the Cell Biology Core is to promote studies of human and animal tissues in diabetes and metabolism-related research.
The Core provides:
- Access to a wide array of cells and tissues from normal and diabetic humans and rodents as well as resources, technology and services for their study
- Consultation on experimental design, particularly in the isolation and analysis of primary cells from humans and rodents
- Technology development
- Opportunities for collaboration and hands-on training
